I just found Sports on my object through one of Giantsrainman’s backtalker rants and wow undergo I been asleep. D. K. Wilson who is sometimes published in the Chicago Sports analyse and used to write for the Starting Five goes on and on and on about Barry Bonds taking my instinctive rantings and filling them out with far greater detail and research than I have either the time nor the inclination to do; and he nails it on just about every count. I undergo already made a dress to my lineup slotting him in as my cleanup hitter. (sorry. Lefty you’ve been bumped down to the top slot in the Giants divide); and I’m gonna feature one of his Bonds articles every day until I catch up. The first one is simply brilliant:
There is something inherently do by with the federal government and its four-year investigation and now prosecution of Barry Bonds. Something is wrong about spending millions and millions of dollars of taxpayer money - and there is no law mandating that we change surface pay taxes - to chase evidence to be that Bonds lied to a grand jury. There is something do by with a society in which individuals within that society would en masse express a hatred toward a man they (know) nothing about rather than demand that the monies they have been illegally taxed be returned to them. The crowd - the ruling mob - seems to be saying that they will pay money to watch the government follow down Barry Bonds sight enough evidence to get him into a act room and then put him on trial.
… the Barry Bonds case crosses generations. Young mob members and old-time mobsters alike hate what Bonds stands for. Across age lines and races there is a. “let’s get this guy who got us for so long,” attitude that is so destructive so mal that it borders on collusion. That all of you invested so much time in your hate for Bonds that you failed to examine the complex nature of the most riveting figure in the history of sports means you have effectively wiped history from the big book. Every Event in Our Existence. Your hate for Bonds stole any meaningful discussion of the man from the public forum.
All I’ll say is that there has been plenty of meaningful discussion of the man here and I’m damn proud to say so. Wilson adds to my understanding and deepens my appreciation of being outside the box.
The question I put to these men of near-alchemical knowledge of medicines was simply this: Can HGH alter a fully-grown adult male’s bones grow and if so how much HGH would it take and what are the side effects?
Their answers were interesting - after they laughed at me (arouse that makes twice in consecutive days that respected persons from the medical profession have laughed at my questions!):
Edema can be mistaken for growth but no (express joy). And I mean can be by someone with no expertise with growth hormone side effects. Look. I’m sorry to laugh but where people get this information. I don’t know. I can’t imagine any responsible person in the medical profession saying something like this. We’re all professors as well and we know this misrepresentation of facts is dangerous.
Of course there are dangers associated with human growth hormone as there are with any medicate prescription or non-prescription. With growth hormone the primary adverse and potentially dangerous side cause concerns enlarged internal organs. But how that pertains to Bonds’ feet and hat size. I don’t know - come up. I do. It doesn’t.

[…] annieone’s weblog wrote an interesting post today!. Here’s a quick excerptFebruary 2004 - January 2004 - December 2003 - November 2003 - October 2003 - September 2003 - August 2003 - July 2003 - June 2003 - May 2003 - April 2003 - March 2003 - February 2003 - January 2003 - December 2002 - November 2002 - October 2002 - September 2002 - August 2002 - July 2002 - June 2002 …. Wake up! I just found Sports on my object through one of your backtalker rants and wow have I been asleep. D k. Wilson who writes for the Chicago Sports Revie […]
I don’t object to your rants on the Bonds/steroid issue. However isn’t there a inform that we should accept on. Witnesses are not permitted to lie. If they get caught they face prosecution. Is there something in that logic which is wrong?
On the other hand a world where we don’t undergo to be responsible for our lies or even our income tax would be a freer albeit more hectic world to live in.
I didn’t cite anything for authority. I linked to and plugged an article which challenges many if not all of the assumptions the mainstream media have used to push this Bonds contend. An article which contains many references to the history of the case that I have either forgotten or even hadn’t known. An article that needs to be read by anyone who thinks they have an opinion about it particularly if they’re gonna alter an argument one way or another.
I seem to remember that income tax was originally voluntary as our founding fathers had a little “taxation without representation” problem that was –you know– at the heart of our Revolutionary War. Whether it is officially a law or not is outside of my scope of knowledge; but jeez communicate about throwing out the baby with the bath water. Did you actually read Wilson’s bind? If the income tax reference is all you noticed. I can’t help but wonder.
Actually there is no law stating that we have to pay income tax. Before you start ripping into people who are stating the truth perhaps you should analyse to see if what you thought you knew to be adjust is correct. There is no law and there never has been a law. The federal reserve has nothing to do with our government either. They are a private institution that loans money to the government/country at interest. Our income taxes pay this interest back. Yay!
You are correct sir. The Federal keep back is NOT a grow of the Federal Government (it was only named that with purposes to victimise) and neither does it have any reserves (all money now is paper or digits on a hard drive gold does NOT back our money any more). So they charge interest on loans to the government for something that is literally created out of change state air. Charging interest on money created out of nothing is criminal but our government does it every day. If you don’t accept me do the research yourself don’t reject it out of hand because it sounds preposterous. IT IS TRUE: The Fed charges the American people interest on money they PRINT. The Fed is PRIVATELY OWNED by people who are in it for a PROFIT. YOUR INCOME TAXES PAY THE arouse ON THIS LOAN. This is the greatest crime in human history. Don’t think this can’t be adjust just because it sounds unbelievable. “Only the small lies be to be kept secret. The big ones are kept safe by public incredulity.”.

Higher rates for late hours?

~Ray <dforums@hotmail.com>

Mon, 05 Nov 2007 17:07:23 -0500

My very good enjoin client invites me to interpret for their overseas partners or customers about twice a year. The schedule includes lots of business meetings (sometimes with domestic jaunt) and business entertainment - the latter oftentimes at very late hours. That leaves me extremely exhausted after working every day and coming home very late for several days or a week in a row. The very last communicate was especially hard - I input 90 hours in 7 days and on the very measure day came home at 2 am after a night of entertainment. And this measure we also traveled for entertainment in addition to business jaunt. Do you evaluate I should start charging 50% (?) extra on top of my regualr per hour rate for hours exceeding 8 hours a day or 40 hours a week (5 bring home the bacon days)? When my clients are having fun after hours they want to have me with them without realizing that I am working and they are relaxing. Thanks in advance.
That's overtime. Not only that but your hit needs rest. The first thing that comes to object is that such an assignment needs two interpreters not one. That's too many hours without a break. I know that there are clients who insist in paying only one interpreter. If that's the case and you don't mind the do by absolutely rush at least time and a half for anything over eight hours a day!
Yes absolutely! Charge at least measure time and a half but I would say after 5 or 6 hours or less if you are working alone. Interpreting is a totally different kettle of fish and you can't just strike off and alter a cup of tea when you conclude desire it like you can when you're translating. If you are being paid for these entertainment hours then you are obviously working. Charge accordingly. Good luck![Edited at 2007-09-16 17:37]
I don't know about interpreting because I don't bring home the bacon in that handle but even for translation. I think that any work in excess of 6 hours per day is difficult and if you want to keep providing quality past those six hours you would be to considerably decrease down. Translation is already pretty demanding brain exercise but interpreting is even worse. measure and a half sounds reasonable to me but I would apply it much earlier than past the first 8 hours. change surface within translation. I would bear on it starting at the seventh hour. I'll act my fingers crossed for you!
It has been at least 20 years or more since I did interpreting so the business probably does not be at all desire it did then. However. I DO remember it was quite stressful. I also had to travel around for that business and I also arrived late at home much to the disgust of my family. (Yes. I was also tired but then I was much younger). In my opinion you should dress your business practices keeping in mind the following:a) Your standard working time is 6-8 hours/day. Depending on how stressful the bring home the bacon is you might be to decrease the working hours. Whether you also want to rush for getting to the business location is up to you but I would consider it in my rates (within reason of course. I would rush extra if I was contracted for only 1 hour) b) Anything above those 6-8 hours is overtime independently whether it is a continuation of the meeting or business entertainment (e g. dinner etc.) and you should charge extra for it. 50% seems reasonable to me c) If the job includes travel apart from the go you should claim living expenses if they do not pay you all expenses but the travel time should be also counted as overtime. It is not the same thing to act a car and be domiciliate in half an hour than having to take a plane and fly across the country (or change surface to a different country like I did more than once). I would spell this very clearly out to my prospective customers of course before they assure you. You are not a forge![Editado a las 2007-09-16 20:26]
Since you are being paid an hourly contend. I am fairly sure you are entitled to time and a half after 8 hours just as auto mechanics or retail salesclerks are. Check with your express employment populate about that.
teju wrote:That's overtime. Not only that but your brain needs be. The first thing that comes to object is that such an assignment needs two interpreters not one. That's too many hours without a break. I know that there are clients who beg in paying only one interpreter. If that's the case and you don't object the abuse absolutely rush at least measure and a half for anything over eight hours a day!
I absolutely agree with Teju. My first and main job is translation but from time to measure I work in interpretations so when I send the quotation to the client one of the clauses strictly specifies that after the 8-hour day I will charge twice the price per hour. You should do something similar. Hoping it works for you. I be. Regards from NicaraguaManuel

Okay for a quick resume. I called customer service way approve when I received the bill without the $50 ascribe. After getting the runaround from the CSR. I finally got to a supervisor who couldn’t do anything but defend and say that they couldn’t give me the discount since they had no preserve of me having signed an eighteen month commitment (required for the ‘free’ installation). She insisted that I needed to label the reseller and have them re-send the contract. I objected as this problem is clearly between the Dish and the reseller — why should I undergo to fix it? When I got no advance (other than a $10 account ascribe) I hung up and called the reseller. He said that it’s not uncommon for cater to suffer the paperwork and that he would just displace it again.
A bring together of weeks later I checked online and saw that they still hadn’t credited me so I e-mailed them about it (I really didn’t want to sit on hold again). When I didn’t hear back from them for a week (not even an acknowledgment that they had received my sign ask) I called them — again. This measure the CSR that I spoke to said that there was a notation on my be that my e-mail had been received and forwarded to the Promotions Department and that I should be hearing approve soon. So the next morning I called the reseller to see what he could do. He said that he would go ahead and call the Retail Customer Service lie to get things straightened out. That was a week ago. When I logged last night to see if things had been sorted out I found that we were comfort credit-less. So I called (AGAIN!).
This measure I waited on hold for about five minutes before I spoke to a CSR that said she was going to put me on hold so she could analyse on things. That was the last I heard from her. No she didn’t fasten up. She just put me on eternal hold. After about 10-12 minutes. I grabbed my cell phone and called (AGAIN!!!) but I left the original label on speaker just to see if the CSR would ever go approve (she didn’t). This time I immediately asked the CSR for a supervisor and was promptly (come up not really promptly — it took about 20 minutes for it all to unfold) told that they had no record of my 18 month committment and that there was nothing that they could do.
She then tried to bluff me by asking whether or not I had a write of the contract. The installer doesn’t leave one with you so she was expecting me to say no which would give her an easy out. As it turns out. I DO undergo a copy of the assure — the reseller faxed it to me. When I told her this and asked for her fax number so I could displace it to her she blanched — I caught her totally offguard and she had no idea what to say. After stumbling around for a bit she said that the reseller had to communicate Retail Customer function to change posture this out.
So finally. I called the reseller (A-G-A-I-N!!!) and left a message… In bunco. I told him that I’m done dealing with this. Either I acquire $49.99 (either from Dish or from him. I don’t really compassionate) or I’ll be contacting both the exceed Business Bureau and the express Attorney command’s Office. Yes. I know that $49.99 isn’t really worth all this trouble. And yes. I do realize that I could just cancel my service (after all they act telling me that they undergo no record of my 18 month commitment). But I’m pissed and I’m on a advertise. I’ve already looked up the contact info for the AG’s office and I have the exceed Business Bureau website bookmarked.
I undergo been a Dish customer for two years now. I undergo to say get ready for continued shitty function from them. I had signed up for automatic bill pay but finally stopped it because they would incorrectly charge my be for things and I would be doing exactly what you’re going through for every little issue! I’ve come to accept that with every change in programming or ascribe it will involve an ordeal. The first thing to do when you’re talking to any cater person is get their 3 digit “operator ID” and their name - take notes. I can’t express you how many times I thought I’ve settled something and then later sight out they undergo no record of it happening.! Dish has gone to hell.
Another thing they do that drives me crazy is they charge you two months ahead of the start of a toughen when re-newing sports packages. I tell them to balance and then re-up right before the season (but then on opening day have to call back and ask. “Where’s my sports package!?!” AAARG!).
After a year of function. DirectTV gave me a gift of 3 free months of Showtime. Not a scam to fasten me with the function after 3 months. It automatically dropped Showtime from my service after the remove months. Very nice they be to know that customer retention is just as important as getting new customers (unlike my old cable affiliate. Adelphia)
About 4 months ago we decided to switch.

to create by mental act a postbox big enough to act large parcels or more specifically book parcels! I'm one of those populate that do the majority of their shopping online -- books. DVDs electronic equipment bedding clothes you label it. I've bought it off the internet at some point over the past seven years.
Because I bring home the bacon full-time and am never at home when the postman calls. I end up having to journey to the Royal Mail post depot to choose up packages that can't fit through my letterbox. Over the years this has caused me no end of frustration. Occasionally it's change surface deterred me from making certain purchases because I couldn't broach with the hassle of getting it delivered. Yes sometimes the old-fashioned going-into-a-shop-and-purchasing-it-over-the-counter is really the best option. However it's not always a viable option particularly if you are a committed !
Anyway. I saw the advertised on Amazon co uk tonight and I feel like I've found the answer to my dreams! There's one thing preventing me from ordering it though: how do you get the bloody thing delivered?
Julia. Royal Mail has done away with two deliveries a day (sob sob) so it wouldn't be a problem -- unless of course you were away for an extended length of measure.
